"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children--not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women--not merely peace in our time but peace for all time."

- John F. Kennedy

MARIN PEACE & JUSTICE COALITION

Join a movement that lifts the human spirit, that embraces the Bill of Rights, that creates a true democracy, an independent media and a sustainable world with peace and justice for all!

OUR PERSPECTIVE

Moved by the event of 9/11 we came together to challenge our government's unethical and illegal military response. Peaceful and just solutions will prevail only if we examine our nation's policies at home and abroad and address the root causes of war and terrorism. Let us be guided by compassion as we challenge war and stop the terror of poverty, inequality and injustice. Let us bring together the widening circle who want to make real a world that works for all.

We oppose all ethnic, racial, political and religious scapegoating. A true democracy welcomes dissent, protects political and legal rights and requires an uncensored media.

We are working for an end to Israel's illegal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza which has been largely financed by U.S. tax dollars. We call for an end to U.S.-sponsored sanctions, bombings, assassinations, torture, death squads and dictators that take lives and leave wounds.

We oppose U.S. economic and military domination for oil and empire in Iraq, Afaghanistan, Colombia, the Philippines and around the world. We support these nations and all people in the world who struggle for self-determination, human rights and peace.

We support the resolution of all international conflicts through the United Nations, international law, the establishment of an international criminal court and support all treaties that promote global demilitarization.

Our Coalition is part of a growing international movement demanding a world that meets human and environmental needs. We join the international community that invites the United States to be a part of this world.
